The Next Great Revolution? Why I'm So Excited About Artificial Intelligence

| September 02, 2026

Over the past several months, I've spent a great deal of time reading what some of the world's brightest business and technology leaders are saying about artificial intelligence. Whether it's Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Sam Altman, or many of the top CEOs on Wall Street, one theme keeps coming up over and over again:

We may be witnessing one of the greatest technological revolutions in history.

That doesn't mean the stock market will move straight up. In fact, history tells us just the opposite. Every major technological breakthrough has experienced periods of excitement, corrections, and uncertainty along the way.

Think back to the 1990s.

The Internet changed the world, but it didn't happen overnight. There were ups and downs, skeptics and believers, and plenty of volatility. Yet for investors who stayed focused on the long term, it became one of the greatest wealth-creating periods in history.

Today, artificial intelligence may represent a similar opportunity.

AI Is About Much More Than Chatbots

Many people think of AI as simply asking a computer a question and getting an answer. I believe we're only seeing the very beginning.

Imagine computers that can help doctors diagnose illnesses more accurately, engineers design better products, scientists discover new medicines faster, and businesses operate more efficiently. Those changes are already beginning.

But the story doesn't stop there.

The Rise of Intelligent Robots

Elon Musk believes that artificial intelligence will eventually power billions of humanoid robots capable of performing many repetitive or physically demanding jobs.

Whether that timeline proves accurate remains to be seen, but it's easy to understand why so many companies are investing billions of dollars in robotics.

Imagine robots helping build homes, assisting in hospitals, working in warehouses, helping farmers, or caring for an aging population. If productivity continues to improve, the impact on the global economy could be enormous.

The New Infrastructure Boom

One thing I find especially interesting is that AI doesn't simply require better software—it requires an incredible amount of infrastructure.

Every AI system needs powerful computer chips, enormous data centers, reliable electricity, advanced cooling systems, and high-speed communication networks.

In many ways, AI infrastructure reminds me of the railroads during the Industrial Revolution or the Internet infrastructure that was built during the 1990s.

Someone has to build all of it.

Why This Matters to Investors

Throughout history, major technological advances have created opportunities for companies that provide the tools, equipment, and infrastructure behind those changes.

Today, many analysts believe the biggest opportunities may be found in areas such as:

  • Artificial intelligence software
  • Semiconductor technology
  • Data centers
  • Energy generation and electrical infrastructure
  • Robotics and automation
  • Satellite communications and space technology

No one knows exactly which companies will become the biggest winners, but history suggests that innovation often creates entirely new industries we couldn't have imagined just a few years earlier.

Keeping Things in Perspective

As exciting as this all sounds, it's important to remember that markets rarely move in a straight line.

During the Internet boom, investors experienced several sharp corrections before the market ultimately reached much higher levels. I wouldn't be surprised to see similar periods of volatility during the AI revolution.

That's simply part of investing.

Rather than trying to predict every short-term move, I continue to believe that owning high-quality investments and maintaining a long-term perspective gives investors the best opportunity for success.

My Thoughts

After more than 30 years of helping families invest, I've learned that some of the greatest opportunities often appear during times of uncertainty.

I don't know exactly what the next six months will bring. No one does.

But I do believe artificial intelligence has the potential to reshape nearly every industry over the next decade, much like electricity, automobiles, personal computers, and the Internet transformed the world before it.

That doesn't mean there won't be bumps along the way.

It simply means that long-term investors should pay attention.

As always, my goal is to help you stay focused on your long-term financial plan rather than short-term headlines.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your financial journey. It is a responsibility I never take for granted.
